Category:Resource

Talking about the election can feel daunting, but giving students the chance to have structured conversations about the election is a powerful way to navigate different viewpoints and build bridges of understanding.

What’s inside?

Set the Tone: Clearly articulate the purpose of the conversation, establish shared norms, and use inclusive language to create a space for dialogue.

Establish a Topic: Conversations are most fruitful when they focus on a specific issue. Use activities like Chalk Talk to help students hone in on election-related topics that they would like to discuss.

Invite Sharing: Carefully craft questions that encourage students to share personally and openly. Give them space to draw from their experiences, values, and perspectives.
