Public Service
Our resources equip public service professionals with the skills to solve problems across differences.
Bridging Divides in an Era of Polarization
Current events, politics, and societal issues are dividing our governments and communities — straining relationships and collaboration. Community leaders must find new approaches to navigating difficult conversations and driving collective problem-solving. Constructive dialogue enables public service organizations to transcend barriers, foster mutual understanding, and collaboratively address the complex issues facing our communities.
This is challenging work, but our experts can support your mission and provide research-backed resources to help build bridges across divides.
E-Learning
Perspectives — our evidence-based e-learning
program — equips people with the mindset and skills for constructive
dialogue. Proven effective in randomized controlled trials, Perspectives
can be used to foster understanding, strengthen communication within
diverse communities, and build skills for conflict resolution so that
public service leaders and employees can find solutions to the problems
that impact us all.
Example Partnerships
Local Governments
In partnership with the Government Finance Officers Association, we conducted a randomized controlled trial, proving the effectiveness of our tools in reducing cross-party animosity and improving conflict resolution skills. The study showed that governments can leverage our tools to strengthen cooperation across political divides.
Leadership Development Programs
In partnership with the Leadership Ohio fellowship program, we conducted workshops for emerging leaders. Our training equipped fellows with skills and strategies to navigate difficult conversations and foster greater collaboration as they work to effect change across Ohio.
