FAQ
Peer-to-Peer completion relies on the honor system. Instructors can reduce the risk of students skipping these conversations by requiring a brief written reflection afterward or by building early buy-in—sharing why P2Ps matter and how they can benefit students' lives.
We recommend keeping the same groups for all Peer-to-Peer conversations. This helps students build deeper connections over time and fosters trust.
While keeping the same Peer-to-Peer groups is ideal, if students drop off it's best to reconfigure the assignments so each group still has 3-4 participants. This ensures remaining students can still engage in a full, meaningful dialogue.
Instructors can reinforce Perspectives by creating more opportunities for students to practice the mindsets and skills they’ve learned. The more students apply these tools, the more likely they are to stick. We offer two workshops geared toward student leaders: Foundations in Constructive Dialogue, and Dialogue Facilitator Certification. You can learn more about each of these opportunities here.
Individual instructors can see whether students have completed the questionnaire, but they don’t have access to questionnaire results in order to protect student privacy. Institutions partnering with CDI receive aggregated analytics.
Whenever possible, Peer-to-Peer groups should reflect a diversity of identities, perspectives, and opinions. These differences enrich the conversation and deepen the learning experience.
While Perspectives includes many U.S.-centric references, they are explained in ways that support the core learning. International students are encouraged to adapt their responses to reflect their own cultural and national contexts.
P2Ps are designed to help students practice dialogue skills and share personally, so overly specific prompts may limit that opportunity. However, instructors are welcome to adapt the P2P structure to align with course content. The structure itself tends to foster open, honest conversations—no matter the topic.
No. Instructors cannot download quizzes or their answer keys from the platform. All quizzes must be completed online within the platform.
If you complete all 6 lessons of Perspectives, you will earn a Perspectives Certificate of Completion. You do not need to complete the Peer-to-Peer conversations to earn a Certificate—just the six lessons. Completing just one Learning Track does not earn you a Certificiate of Completion.
After completing each lesson, students receive a lesson confirmation email. Instructors can require students to upload those PDFs to your classroom management platform to confirm completion.
Feel free to email growth@constructivedialogue.org with questions or concerns, and someone from the CDI team will get back to you.
